Bachelor of Arts in Theology
Description of the Programme
This programme is geared towards persons pursuing a career in the pastoral ministry, chaplaincy or employment with faith based organizations. Students may also pursue a theology- based degree with social work exposure and with minors in education and other disciplines approved by the University of the West Indies. Students may also pursue a programme with a minor in theology.
Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirement of the University of the West Indies.
Applicants may be required to attend an interview. Duration of the Programme
The programme is normally completed in a minimum of three (3) years of full-time study or five (5) years part-time study. The credits must be distributed as follows within the six areas of study. Specific required courses are listed by name.

• THEO 1004 Geographical and Cultural World of the Bible. (3)
• THEO 1002 Introduction to the New Testament OR THEO 1103 Contemporary Approaches to Bible Study (3) An additional 12 credits of which at least 6 credits must be at level 3

• THEO 1103 History of the Early Church from Pentecost to Charlemagne (3) An additional 6 credits from levels 2 and/or 3
