Description of Awards and Prizes
NON-ACADEMIC AWARDS
John Bee Award The student who most embodies the ethos of the College, is a role model, exhibits traits of selflessness and helpfulness, and assists in the development of others. Environmental Concern The student who exhibits care of the property, concern for the sanitation and cleanliness of the community, and concern for security. Leadership Development The student who exhibited growth in leadership ability over the period he or she has been in the College and is able to relate to all members of the community. Church and Community Service The student who has been exemplary in the areas of pastoral assignments, the Field Education course, and extra-curricular activities. The Anthony Bailey Award in Ethics and Urban Ministry The student who has exhibited a keen interest in building an ethical ministry in an urban setting.
ACADEMIC AWARDS
Academic Excellence For those final year students who have scored A's in at least 75% of their twenty best courses for the Diploma in Ministerial Studies, and B's in all the rest. High Academic Attainment For those final year students who have scored A's in at least 50% of their twenty best courses for the Diploma in Ministerial Studies, and B+'s in all the rest. Academic Achievement For those final year students who have scored at least B+'s in at least 75% of their twenty best courses for the Diploma in Ministerial Studies. The Rev. Cynthia A. Clare Memorial Prize For the top academic student in the final year group. Dean's Prize For the student who, in his or her first full year in College, achieved the highest grades among the members of the class.
SPECIAL ACADEMIC PRIZES
The Malko Young Prize for Biblical Studies For the final year student who has excelled in Biblical Studies. This student should have gained at least a B+ in 4 of the 6 courses in biblical languages, as well as having excelled in other Biblical Studies courses. ? The Joyce and Lewin Williams Prize in Contemporary Theology For the final year student who has excelled in the contemporary theology courses. The Ashley Smith Award in Church and Development For the final year student who has achieved the highest grades in the Church and Development courses. The Madge Saunders Prize in Christian Education For the final year student who has achieved the best grades in the required Christian Education course. The Trinity Moravian Prize in Preaching For the final year student who in the homiletics classes earns high grades and generally demonstrates excellence in preaching. The Paul and Carlette Thompson Prize in Church History For the final year student who through good grades in church history courses and a demonstrated interest has shown promise in the field of church history. The Cedric and the Late Barbara Lyle Harper Prize in Women, Religion, and Liberation For the top student among the final year students in the Women, Religion, and Liberation class. The Verna and Lesley Anderson Prize in Philosophy For the top philosophy student in the final year group. The Garth Minott Prize in Ethics For the final year student with the best grades in ethics courses.. The Ronel Julsaint Prize in Psychology The final year student who has excelled in studies in psychology and psychology of religion.
DOCTOR OF MINISTRY PRIZES
The Holiness Christian Church Prize For excellence in the Doctor of Ministry programme. The UTCWI Doctor of Ministry Prize For excellent work in the Doctor of Ministry project.
